The chief designer of Battlefield 2042 left DICE

Fawzi Mesmar, chief designer of the Battlefield and Star Wars: Battlefront series, left the DICE studio. But his departure has nothing to do with failure Battlefieldu 2042, he received a new job offer, which he could not refuse.

“I received an offer I couldn’t refuse in another company that was so kind as to wait until the release of Battlefield 2042,” Mesmar wrote to colleagues in an e-mail, but did not disclose which company it was. Instead, he thanked everyone for their cooperation and said it was a pleasure to be part of the best design team in the galaxy.

Fawzi Mesmar previously ran the King Studio and has been head of design at DICE since 2019, participating in Battlefield 2042, Star Wars: Battlefront 2 and Battlefield 5.
