A few days after resuming training, the Damiers are finally set on their fate, with the unveiling of the calendar for the 2022-2023 National 1 season this Friday, July 8.

The first day of the championship will see Valence Romans Drôme Rugby travel to Charente (Sunday September 4) to face Union Cognac Saint-Jean-d’Angély, who held on last season on the final day at the detriment of Aubenas.

On the second day, Johann Authier’s team will host Blagnac at the Pompidou stadium in Valence (Saturday September 10).

To finish the first block, the Damiers will face the two promoted: Rennes away on the 18th and Hyères Carqueiranne on the 24th.

As for the famous derbies, there will still be some, despite the absence of RC Aubenas-Vals. The Damiers will move to Bourgoin-Jallieu on October 22, to Bourg-en-Bresse on December 3, before receiving Chambéry on December 10.

As for the return matches, the VRDR will host Bourgoin on March 4, 2023, Bourg-en-Bresse on April 15, 2023 and will go to Chambéry on April 30.

Regarding the dates of the final phase, the play-off matches will take place on the weekend of May 6 and 7, 2023, the first leg semi-finals on May 13 and 14, the return semi-finals on May 20 or 21 and the final on May 27 or 28, 2023.

This season, match times have changed in Nationale 1. Six matches per day will take place on Saturdays at 6 p.m., 6:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. Only one game will take place on Sunday at 3 p.m.

In addition, as part of its preparation, the Drôme team will play two friendly matches. The first will take place in Chambéry against the SOC, on Friday August 12 at 7:30 p.m. (Mager stadium); the second, against Oyonnax, will be organized at the Georges-Marquand stadium in Aubenas on Thursday August 18 at 7:30 p.m.
