Nintendo Switch packages are finally available. Sales of Nintendo’s handheld console have picked up speed this fall. This is great news if you are planning to get a Nintendo Switch package in the coming months.

We see that packages that include Pikachu and Fortnite are on the market, and also for the even cheaper console Nintendo Switch-lite there are several packages out there.

Nintendo Switch Packages: How to Discover a Great Offer

It’s not just the fact that a Nintendo Switch package is cheap that makes it a bargain. Many retailers allow cheap games to be included in the package, without lowering the price. If you throw in a game for 3-400 kroner, the package does not get a higher value for that reason.

But if it comes with first-class games in the package without the price having a large surcharge, it may be worth taking a closer look at the offer. It’s always a good idea to double-check, even during big sales events like Black Friday.

Nintendo Switch Lite

Nintendo Switch Lite was launched in 2019 with a price of only NOK. 2499, – in Norway. It’s more than a thousand bucks lower than the original console. But if you also want the ability to play the games on a TV, you should rather choose the Nintendo Switch, as Lite can only be played handheld.

Nintendo Switch Lite comes in several color variants. You get it in turquoise, gray, yellow or coral pink, as well as in Pokemon Zacian & Zamazenta Edition.

How to buy the right Nintendo Switch

It’s easy to tell the difference between the Nintendo Switch and the Nintendo Switch Lite. The former is both more expensive and comes in a larger box, and comes with red or blue Joy-Cons. But if you are looking for the main console, you need to look out for the older version of it.

The upgraded version of the Nintendo Switch (2019) is the only one you will find at most retailers. The improved battery is the only difference, in addition to the fact that the package is a little different. On the older version, there is a hand that picks up the console.

Extra Joy-Con offer

If you’re looking for more multiplayer, check out the latest Joy-Con deals. These controls are a bit more expensive than the Pro Controller (see below), but then you get two separate controls and far more options. These controls are rarely included in the Nintendo Switch packages, so you may not bother to wait for such an offer.

Nintendo Switch Pro – offers on controls

It’s not like you need a Nintendo Switch Pro control to play any of the games, so you do not have to feel pressured to buy one. The Nintendo Switch Pro control is a more traditional type of control, and was launched with the Nintendo Switch. However, this control is not cheap. Nintendo Switch packages with Pro Controller occasionally appear, but this does not happen often. We do not necessarily recommend that you sit and wait.

Do I need to buy extra controls to be able to have more players on the Nintendo Switch?

Maybe not? Remember how the Joy-Con control can be split in two. If you place it sideways, you get two very simple controls, each of them with its own analog joystick and buttons. We have seen that the NBA series, Snipper Clips, FIFA 19 and Mario Kart have been played in this way, to provide a local multiplayer option in both docked and offline mode. This gives you a multiplayer mode right from delivery, without having to buy accessories.

But if you want to play in four-player mode, you have to invest in an extra pair of Joy-Con controls or some Pro controls. We would buy Joy-Cons as a pair (see price comparison above), as you save a bit compared to buying them individually. And if your friends also have a Switch, you can ask them to bring their own controls.

Nintendo Switch packages rarely hold extra controls when sold at regular prices. Sometimes, however, retailers with a small price surcharge let it come with a Pro control for a Nintendo Switch.

When should you look for sales on the Nintendo Switch?

Nintendo Switch sales most often occur around the Christmas season. The biggest game releases of the year are often launched between October and December, and this gives the packages a much higher value when such games are included.

With only 32 GB of storage, you want to secure a cheap memory card or two, so that your Nintendo Switch gives you more leeway, literally. These are often pleasingly cheap.

But what kind of memory card does a Nintendo Switch need? These are Micro SD cards, which (depending on the size) are also known as MicroSDHC (up to 32 GB) or MicroSDXC (soon up to solid 2 TB). Nintendo produces its own cards, but you pay more for them. Thus, we take a look at these cheap MicroSDXC cards, which are also Nintendo Switch-friendly.
