The cheapest car in Indonesia is currently still held by Daihatsu Ayla 1.0 DM/T. This car experienced a price increase from last month, now on par with the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-25R motorcycle.

If you look at the price, the Daihatsu Ayla 1.0 DM/T is equivalent to the ZX-25R motorbike, for example the Ninja 4-Cylinder ABS SE for Rp. 120 million, while the Ninja ZX-25R is sold for Rp. 102.6 million.

Since its launch, the Daihatsu Ayla 1.0 D is not equipped with air conditioning or air conditioner (AC) features. There is also no audio entertainment feature in this 5-passenger car.

Apart from the Daihatsu Ayla 1.0 DM/T, other LCGC models actually experienced an increase. The increase in LCGC prices was influenced by the government’s relaxation of the Sales Tax on Luxury Goods (PPnBM) policy. LCGC still gets PPnBM discount even though the tax reduction is getting smaller.

LCGC cars get a 100% discount from PPnBM payable for the January 2022 Tax Period until the March 2022 Tax Period; 66 2/3% of PPnBM payable for the April 2022 Tax Period up to the June 2022 Tax Period; and 33 1/3% of PPnBM payable for the July 2022 Tax Period up to the September 2022 Tax Period.

Simply put, LCGC consumers are charged 0% PPnBM or free in January-March 2022, 1% PPnBM in April-June 2022, and 2% PPnBM in July-September 2022. The rest in October to December LCGC is subject to normal PPnBM which is 3 %.
