Justin Herbert threw a one-yard touchdown pass to Austin Ekeler with 15 seconds left, then passed the ball to Gerald Everett for a two-point conversion and the Los Angeles Charger Sunday beat the Arizona Cardinals 25-24.
Ekeler reached the end zone with a touchdown that dropped the Chargers by one run and finished at 38-yard offense in a span of 1:33 minutes. The ball touched the prop as it shot into the corner.
This led to the coach Brandon Staley he made a bold decision and opted to convert from two points for the win and not the extra point. Herbert passed the ball to Everett, who got the ball without problems despite the goal line being quite saturated.
Herbert completed 35 of 47 passes for 274 yards and three touchdowns with the Chargers (6-5), who broke a streak of two consecutive defeats and remain in contention for the postseason in the American Conference. Arizona (4-8) has lost four of five and is nearly out of playoff contention in National Conference.
