After the dispute of the last matches of the round of 16 of the Champions League, it became clear that the draw for the quarterfinals of the competition would offer real great matches.
So it was. This Friday the draw for the round of the eight best teams in Europe took place, which determined, among other crosses, the Manchester City vs. Bayern Munich, as well as Real Madrid vs. Chelsea.
It should be remembered that the holding of this draw did not have restrictions on the nationality of the teams, so clashes between teams from the same country could take place. Italy, with Inter, Napoli and Milan, is the most represented. England follows with the presence of Manchester City and Chelsea. In addition, Bayern Munich and Benfica give presence to Germany and Portugal.
Of all these representatives, only the citizens and the partenopeans have not been able to lift the European trophy. The rest accumulate 34 Champions Leagues: Real Madrid (14), Milan (7), Bayern (6), Inter (3), Benfica (2) and Chelsea (2).
The draw also determined how the crosses of the semifinals will take place. Thus, the winner of Milan/Napoli will face the winner of Benfica/Inter.
On the other side of the key whoever wins between Real Madrid/Chelsea will face the winner of Manchester City/Bayern Munich.
The first leg matches will take place on April 11 and 12, while the rematch matches will take place on the 18th and 19th of the same month. All this with an eye toward the grand final to be held on June 10 at the Atatürk Olympic Stadium in Istanbul.
