LWhat started as a dream finally came true. Champions Cup W will debut this Tuesday with its Group Stagewill host the 10 best teams in the region and will be the bridge to the Women’s Club World Cup. Beware, this unprecedented competition will feature undisputed references in the category.
Canada, Costa Rica, Panama, United States, Jamaica y Mexico are the countries that will contribute to the competition. All of them will have a place available for their respective representative team, except for the Liga MX Femenil and the National Women’s Soccer Leaguewhich will have three.

The participating Mexican clubs are Rayadas, Tigres and América. The Monterrey teams were champions in their respective tournaments, while the Águilas finished the Clausura 2024 as the team that accumulated the most points, which earned them their qualification for the competition.
For its part, the American league stands out as one of the best competitions globally. In the Champions Cup W will be the San Diego WavePortland Thorns and Gotham FC, the recent champion. This makes it possible for figures such as Alex Morgan, Maria Sanchez, Sophia Smith y Rose Lavelle make themselves present and cause a sensation among fans.
WHAT ARE THE GROUPS?
In Group A are Frazsiers (Jamaica), Gotham (USA), Tigers (Mexico), Striped (Mexico) and Alajuelense (Costa Rica); sector B is made up of San Diego Wave (USA), Santa Fe (Panama), Thorns (USA), America (Mexico) and Whitecaps (Canada).
WHEN DO THE MEXAS DEBUT?
Something curious is that Tigres and Rayadas will open the track with another edition of the National Women’s Classic, since both coincided in Group A. This clash will take place on Thursday, August 22 at the Universitario and from 7:00 p.m.
Meanwhile, in Group B, América Femenil will do the same against Vancouver Whitecaps of Canada, who secured their participation in the tournament after beating and eliminating Alianza Women of El Salvador by one score in the Repechage. This match will take place on August 21 at Ciudad de los Deportes starting at 7:00 p.m.
WHAT IS THE FORMAT?
Each club will play against all the teams in its group once, having a total of four matches. The top two in each group will advance to the Semi-finals to be played in May 2025. There will be a match for third place and the Final.
Alajuelense y Frazsiers Whip will cut the competition ribbon at 6:00 p.m. at the Alejandro Morera Soto Stadium in Alajuela, Costa Rica.
