The volleyball players of Deya Sport lost to the Bulgarian champions Maritsa (Plovdiv), who won the regular season in the Demax league.
The team led by Borislav Krachanov defeated Burgazliki 3:0 (25:21, 25:15, 25:13) in a match of the 12th round of the championship, played in the “Kolodruma” hall in the city under the hills.
With the success, the “yellow-blue” secured first place in the regular season with two rounds to go. Plovdiv girls have a full asset of 36 points and no losses, and Deya is in fifth place with 12 points (4 wins, 8 losses).
In the previous round, the girls, led by Anton Petrov, defeated Hector (Sofia) 3:2 and until the end of the regular season they will only be chasing victories.
“In view of the difference in classes, the loss is normal. However, I am satisfied with the result, especially in the first game we managed to be absolutely equal to Maritsa. We are a very young team, we have been working for only half a year, maybe even less. What I saw today gives me hope that things will happen.
We need to work on absolutely all elements, especially reception, which is our Achilles heel. We have young competitors who carefully and slowly begin to play with each other, begin to understand each other, to feel each other. This was seen at times even today. From here on, we only chase victories,” said Anton Pertov, the coach of Deya Sport.
Marichanki took the lead without any problems at the beginning of the meeting, then at the key moments (17:14) the rival significantly shortened the distance, and subsequently equalized. However, the hosts came out of the situation and won the part.
In the second part, Deya led (6:4), but Maritza gained momentum and quickly turned the result in her favor (10:6). Until the end, they completely dominated and led the game 2:0. The third game developed identically, in which the female champions were more than decisive.
The top scorer for Maritsa was Dobrina Christoskova with 14 points, Iva Dudova added 13, and Victoria Koeva scored 10. Elitsa Barakova scored the most for Deia with 12 points.
On March 10, Sunday, Deya Sport welcomes Maritsa 2022 at 18:00. In the last round of 14, on March 16, the Burgas team visits Varna DKS.
