The film “Men! ..” is considered the golden classic of Soviet cinema. However, director Iskra Babich had a hard time shooting, because she had to work with a “kindergarten” consisting of three children.
The “brothers” of the main character were played by boys 4-5 years old. Little actors rushed around the site, dragged props, made noise and violated discipline in every possible way. Mikhail Buzylev, who played a mute boy, constantly forgot that his hero could not speak. Because of this, many duplicates were spoiled. Irina Ivanova, who played Polina, brought a lot of trouble. The actress did not understand why her character should be upset because her cow was taken away from her. Muscovite Irina, born in an intelligent family, had to explain that for a villager, the loss of livestock is a huge tragedy.
Fans of the film, on the one hand, admire the tape, on the other hand, they do not understand what the director was thinking about, collaborating with the “kindergarten”. Restless boys could disrupt the whole process, because their actions will bring anyone to hysterics.
