Director of Indonesian Political Parameters (PPI) Adi Prayitno assessed Call for Change Alert held by the Party NasDem at GBK last Sunday was not just to celebrate Ketum’s birthday Solar Paloh. He considered the event as a challenge to return to PDIP, which recently held the Bung Karno Month at the same location.
“In principle, it was good, it was a spectacular event, it was great, it brought in so many NasDem cadres, it was orderly, neat and there were no riots. The most important thing is that this is not just a rally, this is not just a matter of commemorating Surya Paloh’s birthday, for us who see this from afar, as if it’s a kind of challenge back to PDIP,” Adi said in a discussion on Adu Perspective x Total Politics themed ‘Ganjar is Strong, Anies, Prabowo, Where’s Jokowi?’, Thursday (20/7/2023).
For your information, PDIP held the Bung Karno Bulang at GBK on June 24 2023. He considered these two parties as if they were showing readiness for the 2024 elections.
“Previously, the PDI-P had held Bung Karno’s Moon Peak, it was a political message, a kind of show off, and political warm-up towards the 2024 short road. I used to call the long road, now it’s getting shorter,” he said.
Adi thinks that NasDem has also shown that it is not only the PDIP that is ready for the 2024 elections. NasDem is also ready with the axis of change it leads.
“And the issue about NasDem will do the same thing at GBK, about having Surya Paloh then the alert ceremony happened after the PDIP celebrated something similar. So for those of us who see from afar this is not normal, this is a kind of response from NasDem that it is not just PDIP who are ready to face the election but the NasDem with the axis of change are also ready to meet with all the axis of change they want,” he said.
“There was Anies speaking there, there was Surya Paloh passionately criticizing the government, this further emphasized that the change camp is a camp that cannot be underestimated for 2024,” Adi continued.
