The Chairman of the Transitional Council, President of the Republic of Chad, Mohamed Idriss Déby Ento, visited the Emirati field hospital in the city of Amdgrass, accompanied by a number of officials in Chad, and was received by the acting director of the hospital, Dr. Ali Sultan Al-Sanani, and the medical team working there.
The Chadian President toured the hospital and listened to a detailed explanation of the workflow, tasks and duties undertaken by the hospital, the nature of the medical, therapeutic and humanitarian services it provides and the various departments it contains.
The Chadian President praised the efforts of the UAE in the field of humanitarian and charitable work, expressing his country’s thanks and appreciation to the leadership, government and people of the UAE for establishing this hospital, and stressed that the UAE is a country of giving, goodness and humanity, and this is not strange to it.
The number of patients admitted to the hospital reached more than 9,283 patients, and 116 different surgical operations were performed. The hospital is run by a medical staff consisting of 59 doctors, nurses, specialists and technicians in all specialties of various nationalities, and it receives between 100 and 150 visitors daily.
The hospital was opened last July in implementation of the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, in support of fellow Sudanese refugees affected by the difficult conditions caused by the conflict in the sisterly Republic of Sudan. The hospital’s management is supervised by the Emirati humanitarian team, which consists of representatives of Three entities are the Emirates Red Crescent Authority, the Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation for Humanitarian Works, and the Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan Foundation for Charitable and Humanitarian Works. These entities work in coordination with the Foreign Aid Office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
