The chairman of Commission I of the DPR Meutya Hafid admitted that he was surprised by the assignment of the rank of lieutenant colonel (lieutenant colonel) to the titular army Deddy Corbuzier. Meutya said the appointment was not communicated to Commission I of the RI DPR.
“I am also surprised, to be honest I am shocked, why it was not communicated to Commission I when asked by journalists who do not understand what this (duty) is for,” Meutya told the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta , Tuesday (13/12/2022).
According to Hafid, the rank awarded must be explained to the public. This is to show transparency regarding the awarding of the rank to Deddy Corbuzier.
“In principle there is no problem, go ahead, but it needs to be explained to the public so that the dispute is not as long as it is now,” Meutya said.
“So that it is clear what the duties are, because it does not exclude the possibility that if it has been opened there may be nominated citizens of other countries so that the criteria are clear and transparent. Like the one who could be invited by the TNI to become one of the its members from outside,” he continued.
According to him, transparency towards the public is necessary so that the controversy over the assignment of the rank of lieutenant colonel Deddy Corbuzier does not drag on. This is also so that people interested in getting a degree can prepare.
“That’s why the criteria are not clear, we don’t know what it is. That’s why it has to be communicated to the public, what are its duties. As a public communication intermediary, we don’t know yet, so later also people who are interested in getting the same position or title they can prepare themselves for.” Meutya said.
