The CGT éduc’action of Corsica joins the staff of the Lycée Giocante de Casabianca de Bastia, for the reopening of first class STMG as well as the creation of an additional class of terminal.
“The inter-union of the Lycée Giocante de Casabianca, supported by the CGT Educ’Action de Corse, is mobilizing and asking for the reopening at the start of the 2022 school year of a second class of 1st STMG and the maintenance of the 2nd class in terminale. Indeed, since the start of the school year in September 2021, the Giocante high school in Casabianca has only had one class of first year Science and technology of management and management – which is completely new – with a staff of 34 students, which is a real pedagogical nonsense for this type of sector
THIS SITUATION CANNOT LAST AT THE BACK TO SCHOOL 2022!In effect :
1. Pupils enrolled this year in the final year and failing the exam, will not be able to repeat a year within the establishment.
2. Each year, the high school welcomes a few students in STMG terminale who were not in high school in 1st class (this year, six STMG terminale students were not educated with us in 1st). It will therefore be impossible to welcome new “entrants” at the start of the 2022 school year, since we will only have one final year class, with 34 students from 1ère STMG.
3. With only one class open in 1st and 36 requests for STMG in 1st wish among the seconds of this year, the school will be forced to make a selection because this figure does not take into account the second wishes, of the students of Joan of Arc , students arriving from the Continent or the CNED, any bridges requested. Second year students who have requested another stream, whether technological or professional, and who are not accepted will be returned to the general stream, regardless of their profile and their results. Some of these students would be perfectly in their place within a sector as complete and efficient as the STMG
4. The management indicates that it is necessary to reach a forecast of 60 pupils to have a class opening, in first as in final. STMG classes have a profile and lessons that require small numbers, not exceeding 25 students.
This state of affairs is untenable for both students and teachers whose working conditions are deteriorating.In the long term, it is the survival of the STMG sector within the Establishment that is threatened. However, this is part of the establishment’s DNA, in the same way as artistic and cultural teaching.
The staff refuse to see her condemned to a slow death. They do not accept that our students are sacrificed for purely accounting logic.
They therefore ask to make available the hours necessary for the maintenance of 2 classes in terminale and the reopening of the 2nd first class.
They are determined and do not rule out a massive mobilization at the start of the school year in September 2022, otherwise.”
