The Cervantes National Theater has announced the winning projects of the federal Produce program in the country – Aptus

The program is aimed at groups and artists from all over the country. 109 cultural proposals were presented.

The Cervantes National Theater (TNC) announced the seven projects from different parts of Argentina that have been selected under the federal program Produce in the Country 2023, which promotes the development of artists outside its headquarters.

The program is intended for groups and artists from all over the country who wish to present theater projects to be performed and premiered entirely produced by Cervantes in their places of origin, with the exception of the City of Buenos Aires and Greater Buenos Aires, as it aims to democratize and federalize production.

Out of a total of 109 submitted projects, the winners were chosen by an external curatorship led by Chiqui González (Santa Fe), Maite Aranzabal (Río Negro), Carlos Leyes (Formosa); and another TCN inmate trained by its Warden Gladis Contreras; the deputy director, Jorge Dubatti, and the coordinator of the Federal Program Dora Milea.

Made in the country: selected works

The works selected for the program were “Otilia Buenaventura”, by Luis Serradori (Monte Caseros, Corrientes); “The Stables of Her Majesty”, by Víctor Arrojo (Las Heras, Mendoza); “Cueva caliente, while the philosophers sleep” by Paco Giménez (City of Córdoba) and “Hedda Gabler” by Edgardo Dib (City of Santa Fe).

The list is completed with “To whom the sea belongs”, by Astrid Urban (Santa Rosa, La Pampa); “Los lugares cambian”, by Rodolfo Pacheco (San Salvador de Jujuy) and “Deus Ex Machina”, by Ezequiel de Almeida (Mar Azul, Buenos Aires).

The Cervantes will produce all the theatrical pieces during 2023.
