Wong Yuen-shan has resigned as a member of the Legislative Council and the United Hong Kong Foundation. The Legislative Council Secretariat yesterday received written notice of Huang Yuen-shan’s resignation, which will take effect immediately. Chen Zhisi, executive vice president of United Hong Kong Fund, welcomed the appointment of Huang Yuanshan and believes that Huang Yuanshan’s experience and expertise can make contributions to Hong Kong in a wider range.
Li Jiachao expects the CEO’s policy team to make four contributions, including advocating and assisting in formulating long-term and strategic policies from a forward-looking perspective; keep abreast of national development, including the direction, plans and policies, analyze and suggest key points for integration into the overall national development, take the initiative to participate in the promotion and make contributions; examine international relations and situations, analyze opportunities and risks, so that the government can seize opportunities, create an environment conducive to development, and at the same time prevent risks; grasp Hong Kong’s public sentiments and understand the general direction and key points of public interest, explore the factors conducive to social harmony and stability, and assist in the direction of decision-making and formulation of measures.
