The CEO of the CIUSSS de la Capitale-Nationale, Guy Thibodeau, moves to Santé Québec

The CEO of the CIUSSS de la Capitale-Nationale, Guy Thibodeau, will leave his position to join the new Santé Québec agency, set up to lead the daily management of the health network.

Health Quebec spokesperson Jean-Nicolas Aubé confirmed the information on Monday.

Mr. Thibodeau will join the new agency as Assistant Vice-President of Governance, in the team of Frédéric Abergel, Executive Vice-President of Operations and Transformation.

The latter is the right-hand man of the head of Santé Québec, Geneviève Biron.

Guy Thibodeau has been leading the CIUSSS de la Capitale-Nationale since March 2022. Previously, he held the position of Deputy CEO within the same establishment, after having been CEO of the Agence de la santé et des services sociaux de la Capitale-Nationale, from 2012 to 2015.

“Santé Québec is delighted with the arrival of Mr. Thibodeau to its team. His profile corresponds exactly to what we are looking for. We want to build a team with complementary talents, which combines internal experience in the network and experience that comes from outside,” explained Jean-Nicolas Aubé.

Without providing the precise salary of the new vice-president, Mr. Aubé states that it is in a range between $254,535 and $330,897 planned for this job category.

Two other nominations

At the heart of Minister Christian Dubé’s reform to improve the efficiency of the network, Santé Québec will take charge of the day-to-day management of operations, while the ministry will retain longer-term planning.

In addition to Mr. Thibodeau’s appointment, the new agency also announced two other important appointments to its executive team on Monday.

Natasha Bergeron has been appointed Vice President – Strategy, Performance and Continuous Improvement, while Erika Elisabeth de Assis Bially will occupy the position of Vice President – Information Technology.

Natasha Bergeron has held an executive position at Vention since last January, after spending more than 15 years at the McKinsey firm.

Ms. Erika Elisabeth de Assis Bially comes from the Transformation and Change Management Office at Revenu Québec.

Santé Québec says the composition of its executive team is now almost complete.

“The position of Vice-President of Procurement, Logistics and Infrastructure remains the last to be filled, and the selection process is underway. The appointment to this position will be announced by the end of the summer,” wrote Santé Québec in a press release.
