LIBREVILLE, July 04, 2023 (AGP) – The Gabonese Democratic Party (PDG, in power) castigated, on Tuesday July 4, the remarks made by the opponent Jean Ping, last Saturday, in Paris, against President Ali Bongo Ondimba.
During the meeting he had with the Gabonese diaspora in France, the opponent Jean Ping declared that“in 2016, the President of the Republic came himself by helicopter, armed with a bazooka, and himself fired a heavy machine gun at (his) headquarters, accompanied by the former Minister of Foreign Affairs of France, Jean Yves Le Drian ». Just as he said that the Head of State would have ” instructs the people to cut off his neck with an ax and to exhibit his head on a stake”.
It is in this perspective that the party in power wanted to react, thus expressing its astonishment at the ” lightness » about the Gabonese opponent.
“The CEO recalls that his Excellency Ali Bongo Ondimba leads Gabon with values of openness, dialogue and democracy. And cannot be directly or indirectly concerned by the actions described above and which are attributed to him out of pure bad faith.said CEO spokesman Frédéric Massavala Mamboumba.
“The Gabonese Democratic Party is surprised at the levity with which this compatriot, in his belligerent spirit, casts opprobrium on a high dignitary of a friendly country, in this case Mr. Jean Yves Le Drian who, moreover, does not was not in Libreville at the time indicated”he continued.
