The Center Party issued a public appeal with over 30,000 signatures for the resignation of Kaja Kallas

The Chairman of the Estonian Center Party, Mihhail Kõlvart, handed over to the Chairman of the Riigikogu, Lauri Hussar, about 30,000 signatures that had been collected in less than a month for the appeal “Kaja Kallas must resign!”

“I hope that the Riigikogu will process this appeal with a great sense of responsibility and following democratic principles in such a way that the deputies will have the opportunity to vote on it in the plenary session. It is important that every member of the Riigikogu can clearly express his position on this issue,” he said Mihail Kõlvart.

“According to the latest survey, 71 percent of Estonian people support the resignation of Kaja Kallas, and the nearly 30,000 signatures collected by the Center Party in a short time clearly reflect the growing dissatisfaction in society,” added Mihhail Kõlvart. “The government led by the Reform Party idly watches as the Estonian economy has declined for almost two years in a row, our families are impoverished, companies are going bankrupt and unemployment is increasing. Instead of helping people, the prime minister is focusing on tax increases and cuts.”

The Riigikogu is obliged to discuss a collective appeal for which the support signatures of at least 1,000 Estonian citizens have been collected.
