On Saturday, May 13, the Estonian Center Party will organize a procession and a demonstration to express their opinion against the government coalition’s lies, ill-considered tax increases and policies that harm the economy.
“We inform the government that the Estonian people are against planned tax increases and the parliament must not accept the unfair tax package of the Reform Party government! An increase in sales tax, an increase in income tax, the abolition of the additional tax exemption for families, an increase in the value added tax for accommodation, car tax and an as yet unknown number of tax frauds lead to uncertainty and reduce the livelihood of people and companies!” said the chairman of the Center Party Jüri Ratas.
Before the demonstration in Tammsaare Park at 1 p.m., all those who wish are invited to Freedom Square an hour earlier to go to the main event with a joint procession.
“All people who care about the future of Estonia, who are worried about tax increases, the cost of living and economic recession are invited to the procession,” said the chairman of the Tallinn Council of the Center Party. Mihail Kõlvart. “We are gathering to say: this government has come to power with lies – they promise one thing, but do another. We come together to say: roller coaster politics, sham inclusion will not pass. We gather to say: We will resist any steps you take that make people’s livelihoods worse.”
