The center of the solar system is the sun whose main role is to keep the planets of the solar system in orbit. What planets are there in this solar system? The Ministry of Education and Culture explained that there are eight planets in the solar system that need to be known.
This explanation of the planets in the solar system is intended:
1. Planet Jupiter
The largest planet in the solar system is Jupiter. This is because Jupiter is 13,000 km in diameter, with an average distance from the sun of 778.8 million km. The diameter of Jupiter is almost 11 times the diameter of the planet Earth.
The mass of the planet Jupiter contains a volume of 1.33 cubic grams cm. So the sun contains a volume of 1.41 grams cubic cm. Jupiter has a large red spot, it is a centuries-old storm larger than the planet Earth. The planet Jupiter has 63 moons, 75 natural satellites, and a faint ring system.
2. Planet Mercury
The planet Mercury is one of several planets in the solar system other than Jupiter. This is the closest planet to the sun in the solar system. The size of this planet is small and has almost no atmosphere, so the sky appears as dark as in outer space.
3. Planet Venus
The planet Venus is a variety of planets in the solar system other than Jupiter. This planet looks very bright because it has a dense atmosphere like white clouds covering the surface of Venus.
4. Planet Earth
Planet Earth is a variety of planets in the solar system other than Jupiter. It is the third planet in the solar system in order of distance from the sun. The Earth has a layer of air (atmosphere) and a magnetic field called the magnetosphere that protects the Earth’s surface from the solar wind, ultraviolet rays and radiation from space.
5. Planet Mars
The planet Mars is a variety of planets in the solar system other than Jupiter. Mars has a rocky surface that appears red due to the iron oxide content it contains.
While the other changing colors are caused by the wind lifting dust off the surface. The temperature of the surface of Mars is colder than the temperature of the Earth’s surface because it is further away from the sun.
6. Planet Saturn
The planet Saturn is a variety of planets in the solar system other than Jupiter. This planet is easy to distinguish from other planets, because this planet has rings. Saturn’s rings are pieces of meteoritic ice with a width of 402,000 km and a thickness of 15 km.
7. Planet Uranus
The planet Uranus is a variety of planets in the solar system other than Jupiter. This planet discovered by William Herschel in 1781, the planet is shrouded in a thick fog composed mainly of methane gas.
Its diameter is about four times the diameter of the earth. Uranus is a good reflector of sunlight. So we can easily see that the planet is blue.
8. The planet Neptune
The planet Neptune is a variety of planets in the solar system other than Jupiter. The shape of the planet Neptune is similar to the Moon with a thin layer of silicate on the surface. The composition of the planet Neptune is iron and other heavy elements. The planet Neptune has 8 satellites, including Triton, Proteus, Nereid and Larissa.
