Burgas Opens Second Center for Innovative Educational Technologies
The Department for Qualification and Professional Development of Pedagogical Specialists at the University “Prof. Dr. Asen Zlatarov” in the city of Burgas has recently inaugurated the second Center for Innovative Educational Technologies (CIOT) in the country. This initiative is part of the National Program “Increasing the competences of teachers from public higher education institutions preparing future teachers“.
The opening ceremony of the CIOT was attended by esteemed guests, including Dr. Ivana Radonova, a state expert in the Higher Education Directorate of the Ministry of Education and Culture and coordinator of the National Program. Also present were Prof. Dr. Magdalena Mitkova, Prof. Dr. Sotir Sotirov, Assoc. Dr. Nadezhda Kaloyanova – Head of the CIOT, and Assoc. Dr. Krasimira Dimitrova, the director of the Department for Qualification and Professional Development of Pedagogical Specialists.
The event was graced by the presence of Yordanka Ananieva, the Deputy Mayor of the Municipality of Burgas, Prof. Dr. Sevdalina Turmanova, the Chairman of the Municipal Council – Burgas, representatives from the Ministry of Education and Culture, and Petya Petrova, the head of the Public Administration – Burgas. Other guests from the education sector were also in attendance.
The CIOT opening attracted representatives from the academic community, as well as heads of similar structures from more than 10 state higher education institutions across the country. This gathering provided an excellent opportunity for networking and knowledge exchange.
