The visit began on fire in the first quarter, in which they enjoyed a maximum advantage of nine points, but the locals recovered thanks to an excellent second period (35-20).
In the complement, the Grizzlies did not give up and even went back to the front on the scoreboard, but in the end the hierarchy of the Celtics prevailed, who achieved their fourth consecutive victory.
The match presented an interesting duel of styles, with Boston relying on long-distance shooting (21 triples against 12 for the opponent) and with Memphis doing its damage in the paint (60 points, against 34).
Jayson Tatum missed 13 of 16 shots from the field and played one of his worst games so far this season, but his teammates stepped up to make up for his poor performance: Eight Celts players contributed at least 10 points.
On the side of the cast led by Taylor Jenkins, Ja Morant was the most outstanding with 25 points, while Desmond Bane added another 18, although it was not enough. Jaren Jackson Jr. was ejected for six personal fouls and only spent 20 minutes on the court.
With this result, Boston (41-16) is consolidated at the top of the Eastern Conference, while Memphis (34-22) is in second place in the Western Conference and could not get close to Denver Nuggets, the leader.
