The celebration of the State of the City Debate is postponed | BE Talavera

The municipal spokeswoman, Flora Bellón, has reported the cancellation of the extraordinary Plenary of the State of the City Debate scheduled for Tuesday, May 4, at the request of the municipal group of PP and after the lockdown of his five councilors due to the positive for Covid-19 last Friday from his vice spokesman, It’s Delgado.

After the meeting of the Board of Spokespersons, which has been held via telematics, Bellón has communicated the decision after the request of the municipal group of the PP that prefers to be in person at the Debate, so the Government team has wanted “To have that solidarity and generosity with them because the Debate could have been held online.”

In this regard, the spokesperson recalled that this year the Organic Regulation of the Plenary of the City of Talavera was modified so that any councilor who justifies a cause of illness or confinement by Covid-19, could be present electronically. In fact, the mayor has pointed out, Tita García Élez, she telematically attended the ordinary plenary session in January when she was isolated by coronavirus.

The spokeswoman has assured that the Government team has wanted “Have that deference” with the councilors of the municipal group of the PP after the request of its spokesman, Santiago Serrano, to cancel the Debate because “I’d rather be in person.”

In this sense, it has indicated that, as it is an exceptional situation in which all the councilors of the PP are confined, it has been decided to postpone it, therefore the Debate “It will be held as soon as it gets out of this situation or when the mayor, who is the one who has the power to call plenary sessions and debates, deems it appropriate.”
