The paper ballots for the National Assembly and the EP will be of a different color in the elections on June 9. This is necessary because these two votes are held on the same day. This was stated by the chairman of the Central Election Commission Kamelia Neikova before the BNR.
She emphasized that visually, the change should not cause confusion for paper ballots.
The public tender for selection is at the final stage. We announced it on April 9, when President Rumen Radev’s decree was issued. I hope that in the first days of next week there will be clarity on this issue as well, explained Neikova.
According to her, the voting machine does not print colored ballots, but there is a separate ballot for each individual election, as was the case in local elections.
According to her, the attacks against the CEC for election manipulation have a negative impact on voters.
Neikova emphasized that the commission fulfills its duties and work as assigned to it. Honesty and morality depend on all of us, administration, members, voters, politicians, she added.
Neikova is convinced that there will be no problems with the certification of the machines, as during the local elections in the fall of 2023. She indicated that at the beginning of next week we will probably have a chosen contractor for the machines for the NA and EP elections on June 9 , with the only participant being Ciela Norma.
