LINDEN – (red). At a two-day closed-door meeting of the CDU parliamentary group in Linden in Bad Laasphe, the parliamentary group dealt with the local elections on March 14, 2021. Priority was given to the budget with the unclear situation regarding the pandemic.
It is of considerable importance for the CDU parliamentary group that investments continue to be made even in a corona-related crisis. “In the past good years it was possible to generate considerable surpluses and thus to build up reserves and thus it is possible to finance the investments we demand without having to take out loans,” said the parliamentary group leader Frank Hille, describing the financial situation in Linden. Five points are particularly important to the CDU parliamentary group: the renovation of the fire department equipment store Leihgestern, the renovation of the town hall, comprehensive and modern connection to faster internet, a barrier-free town hall and the gradual renewal of municipal streets. Furthermore, the participants dealt with the field of transport and housing. In order to relieve citizens of traffic noise and emissions, relief roads are to be built and cycle paths expanded. When it comes to living space, the CDU wants to counteract further land consumption in the outdoor area and instead first use vacant lots in the town center for residential development.
Finally, the CDU parliamentary group dealt with the possibilities of the local election campaign under Corona conditions. More use is to be made of social media and networks for the transmission of information about the election program and the lively exchange about it.
