Although Cyberpunk 2077 has not met with a warm welcome, CD Projekt believes in its future. According to the company’s president, Adam Kiciński, Cyberpunk 2077 will be considered a very good game in the future, once all its problems have been resolved. He also added that Cyberpunk will be sold in the long run, especially as the hardware becomes more powerful.
Kiciński said this in an interview with a Polish economic newspaper Republic. “Cyberpunk 2077 is the largest, most ambitious and definitely the most complex project in our 27-year history. In almost every respect, we have tried to go one step further. The release of the game from the new series brings many challenges and risks, especially when the concept is so complex. We are proud of many aspects of the game, but as we know, not everything went according to our ideas. However, the awareness of the Cyberpunk brand that we have managed to build is huge and the gaming world, its characters and details have fans all over the world. We believe that in the long run, Cyberpunk 2077 will be seen as a very good game and, like our other titles, will sell for many years to come. ” Kiciński said in an interview.
The head of the Project CD continues to talk about current work on new updates, but mainly about the version for the next-gen console. It should be released in the first quarter of 2022, along with a major patch for version 1.5. “The decision to postpone the next-gen version of Cyberpunk was difficult, but we believe it was the right one, especially since it was clearly recommended to us by our development team. We need extra time to fine-tune the visuals and performance of the game to be of the highest quality throughout the game. ” Kiciński said.
Several updates and the first DLC were delivered to Cyberpunk in August. At the end of October, CD Projekt updated its plan, postponing several updates and free DLCs to 2022. The last major update to the game came in mid-September, bringing a number of fixes in gameplay, tasks and the open world. It has also improved the visual and user interface.
