The CCISF injects $10,000 to encourage local purchasing

The campaign offers the purchase of reloadable cards ranging from $50 to $200 that can be used in the 110 participating businesses. The program adds an additional 40% to the initial investment to encourage local purchasing.

This offer is limited and short-term, ending February 28 to encourage purchases during the quieter post-holiday season. A limit on purchasing one card per email address has been introduced to prevent abuse, but there will be a change in December.

“We want to stimulate local purchasing and encourage our local businesses, whether retail stores, restaurants, tourist attractions or online commerce. It’s a great way to invest in our community,” shares the deputy general director of the CCISF, Marlène Gaudreault.

“In an era of online shopping on large platforms, we want to support local merchants and maximize regional economic benefits as the holiday season approaches. This is an important period for businesses and we have an effective way to encourage them,” explains the CEO of the Saguenay-Le Fjord Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Sandra Rossignol.

According to her, the Vitalise program has already made it possible to keep $20,000 in the region with 110 participating merchants since its creation in 2023.

Ms. Rossignol also suggests that companies give these cards as gifts to their employees. “Employers and merchants: support and celebrate locally by offering VITALISE as a gift. A simple gesture that will make all the difference,” she adds.

For businesses wishing to be part of the program, simply contact the CCISF and express your interest. After a few tests, the interested branch will be able to accept the VITALISE rechargeable card, free of charge.
