Post-containment recovery is not easy for the CCBF. While it was undefeated before the cut, the Chartres formation has just fallen twice, in quick succession, in the league. A week after the short defeat at home against Angers (69-75), it was crushed this Saturday evening, near Aulnoye, in the North (105-59).
The insoluble Dowdell problem
Benoît Marty, the coach, had however clearly identified the danger represented by the American interior Shanavia Dowdell, but his daughters did not manage to stop him. With 24 points, 18 rebounds and a monstrous assessment of 46, the best player in Ligue 2 has once again carried Aulnoye on her shoulders.
Aulnoye, a major challenge
Dowdell, who was already 29 at the break, made a huge contribution to the strong start of his team, which led 26-6 after just eight minutes. Too quickly unhinged, the CCBF never recovered. If he managed to limit the damage at the break (54-37), he then completely sank, finally beaten in large widths, 105-59.
