Since 2001, the Municipal Social Action Center (CCAS) of Châteaudun has been providing an allowance for the continuation of studies and professional training to Dunois, aged between 14 and 25, who are eligible for this system, financed with the support from the General Commissioner for Territorial Equality (CGET).
“The young person or the parents, if minors, must be domiciled for more than six months in Châteaudun. There must also be costs inherent in schooling outside Châteaudun ”, underlines Sonia Martin, administrative director of the solidarity service.

The allocation of this allowance, up to 400 euros, is subject to a family income scale. It is paid, in two installments, to the young person or his legal representative. “The amount of the second payment went from 150 to 200 euros last year,” says Joëlle Auvray-Travers, CCAS vice-president and assistant in charge of solidarity, student life.
“The first payment of 200 euros is made when the application is submitted, which took place between 15 September and 30 November, explains Sonia Martin. At the end of the second school semester, the young person receives the second part of the allowance, only on proof of schooling. It may happen that some stop during the year. »
Increased file archiving
In total, eighteen dossiers were validated following the CCAS review of dossiers, which closed on November 30, compared to sixteen in 2021 and fifteen in 2020. Six dossiers were rejected, as they exceeded the amount of resources. “These are not just initial requests. We had eight renewal files this year. »

Each file is studied during an interview lasting approximately one hour, in which the resources and responsibilities of the family and of the young person present at the interview are presented. The case then goes to committee. The young Dunois whose file is validated are contacted again in March, in order to provide the supporting documents necessary for the second payment of the check.
The administrative director recalls that this system concerns “both students and apprentices. The practices that we have validated are very eclectic: law degree, technical-commercial IUT, CAP for vehicle maintenance, medical studies, pharmacy… ”, he says, as he scrolls through the suspended practices.
“Next year we will work with the PIJ (Youth Information Point) so that this further study aid appears on the Pronote school life management software, underlines Joëlle Auvray-Travers. This will affect the young Dunois live. »
