the CBC sees life in blue thanks to its youth teams

Several young players from the Castres Basket Club were invited to participate in the Panier d’or and the Benjamin Challenge, co-organized by the committee and the Gaillac club. Several of them will have succeeded in making the difference, including Perrine – U13F – qualified for the regional final of the challenge.

On the Basket of Gold side, U11 category, it is Nathan – 1st in the tournament and Thibault – in 2nd position, who will therefore also play their regional final. Clarisse, meanwhile, won the position of first substitute after a close final, neck and neck with her direct competitor.

At the same time, several licensees presented for the departmental official referee diploma went to the headquarters of the Tarn basketball committee in Albi to take the written and oral test. Four of them, Hervé (senior coach 1 and U15M2), Léo, Lucas and Louis (all 3 in U15M) passed this part of the exam and are thus continuing towards their final validation which they will pass in the coming weeks in order to join the team of 8 official referees already validated by the CBC.

Winning streak

In Castres, at the Roulandou gymnasium, mini-basketball players U9 received last weekend the clubs of Mazamet and Lacaune for their second plateau at home.

Among the weekend matches, seniors 1 won at home against Gimbelet 93 to 65 at the end of a very interesting match whose consistency and intensity will have set the tone throughout this meeting.

Earlier in the day, the U17M2s who left to face their opponents from Portet-sur-Garonne won the match 68-62.

In U15, the 1 girl teamafter losing to the Net’s (north-east of Toulouse) in the first leg, went to take her revenge and won 54 to 51.

In U15 boy, team 2 received Montauban and chained a fourth consecutive victory (86-60). Team 1 needed a victory to return to their championship with positive energy. Mission accomplished against TOAC (Toulouse): 75-68.

Finally, the U17M1 Occitania left to face Toulouges (Pyrénées-Orientales), their direct competitors in this 2nd phase of the Regional 1 championship. Despite the absence of their captain through injury, they managed to offer a very high quality game and thus take the lead on the score until the 3rd quarter, during which their opponents finally returned to equality.

But the combativeness of each of the teammates combining power, speed and technicality made it possible to recreate the gap and achieve what they dreamed of: winning their 4th consecutive victory 86 to 68.
