LOSAIL – Valentino Rossi revealed the reason he could only finish the race at number 12 in the opening series titled MotoGP Qatar 2021. The Petronas Yamaha SRT Team racer also said that the rear tire of his racing motorbike which had a problem in the middle of the race was the cause of the minor result.
In fact, Valentino Rossi can start racing in the Qatar MotoGP in 2021 quite well. Appearing at the Losail Circuit, Qatar, Monday (29/3/2021) early morning WIB, he was able to start from fourth and compete in the top five.
But over time, the position of The Doctor – the nickname Rossi – continued to experience setbacks. One by one his rivals behind could easily overtake Rossi. As a result, he continued to fall behind until he finally had to swallow a bitter pill.

Valentino Rossi ended the race in 12th place. He finished with a record time of reaching 10.742 seconds adrift of Maverick Vinales (Monster Energy Yamaha) who came out as the fastest.

Rossi admitted that this result did not match his expectations. Because, he is known to be able to show such a slick performance in the Qatar MotoGP qualifying session that has sealed fourth place in the starting grid.
According to Rossi, this unexpected performance condition must occur because of a problem with the rear tire of the motorbike. This condition has made the tire’s performance then decreased and after a few struggling laps, he finally became overwhelmed.
“We definitely hope for more, especially after qualifying yesterday,” said Valentino Rossi, as quoted by Speedweek, Monday (29/3/2021).
“I had a lot of difficulties in racing. After a few laps I had problems with the tires. We then tried to change something, but unfortunately we did not solve the problem, “he continued.
“After a few laps, there was a problem with the rear tire. Whatever the reason, I put too much pressure on the rear tire, and the tire’s performance then decreased. After a few laps, I wasn’t fast enough. It was not the race we expected, “said Rossi.
