REASON Shin Tae-yong angry at the referee in the match Indonesian National team vs Bangladesh will be discussed in this article. Shin Tae-yong protested that the referee blew the whistle before the game time was up.
Last night, the Indonesian national team met Bangladesh in a match which was held at the Si Jalak Harupat Stadium, Bandung, West Java. After going through 90 minutes of the match, the score was equally strong 0-0.
At that time, there was something odd at the critical minute. According to MNC Portal Indonesia (MPI) monitoring, the match was supposed to run normally until the injury time was decided for five minutes by the referee.
However, the referee blew the whistle earlier than the specified time. Supposedly, the referee blew the whistle when game time showed 90+5′. However, the court referee had already blown it at 90+4′.
This immediately caught Shin Tae-yong’s attention. The South Korean coach looked angry and did not accept the referee’s decision. He also protested to the officials on duty on the side of the field.
It doesn’t stop there, Shin Tae-yong was also seen approaching the referee to protest loudly. However, the field referee remained firm in his decision. The match ended with a score of 0-0.
This result is arguably unsatisfactory considering that the Indonesian national team is eyeing a victory to increase its ranking in the FIFA rankings. Moreover, Bangladesh is currently still stuck at 188 in the FIFA rankings, far behind the Indonesian national team which occupies the 159th position in the world.
Furthermore, the Indonesian national team will play in the third round of the 2023 Asian Cup Qualification which will be held in Kuwait on 8-14 June 2022. The Indonesian national team is in Group A with hosts Kuwait, Jordan and Nepal.
Indonesian National team must finish as group winners or win the status of the best five runners-up to qualify for the 2023 Asian Cup. Can you do that, Indonesian national team?
