The Cause of Malaysia Airlines Boeing 737-800 Dropping Sharply Answered

Kuala Lumpur

Aircraft Malaysia Airlines suddenly plunged 7,000 feet in a matter of seconds. The cause of the Boeing 737-800 plane dipping sharply was finally revealed.

Reported from New Straits Times (NST), aircraft Malaysia Airlines with flight number MH2664, it departed from Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) to Tawau, Sabah, on Sunday (3/4/2022).

The plane suddenly dived sharply while airborne and made several passengers ‘float’ in their seats. The plane ‘dive sharply’ happened about 30 minutes after takeoff.

One of the passengers named Halimah Nasoha recounted the thrilling incident in a Facebook post on Monday (4/4). He said, according to flight monitoring website FlightRadar, the plane he was flying in suddenly plunged from 31,000 feet to 24,000 feet in a few seconds at 3:03 p.m. local time.

This means that Halimah’s plane experienced a decrease in altitude of about 7,000 feet or 2,133 meters while in the air.

“I was thrown several times because I wasn’t wearing my seat belt (At that time, we were allowed to remove our seat belts),” Halimah wrote in her post.

“The passengers were screaming and crying. It felt like we were going to die,” he said.

The plane did not crash into the earth. The plane then turned back to Kuala Lumpur International Airport. Malaysia Airlines also confirmed that the plane bound for Tawau turned around mid-flight after experiencing technical problems and bad weather. The plane is said to have landed safely at KLIA at 17.03 on Sunday (3/4).

“Not everyone who goes through an experience like this can live to share their story, and for that I am grateful … Thank you to the pilots who managed to control the plane and save us,” Halimah wrote in her post.
