Dr. Islam Assaf, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health in Matrouh, sent staff to investigate and wrote a report after witnessing violations within the Maternal and Reproductive Health Hospital during a surprise visit.

The decision came after a review of patient records, diagnoses and prescribed treatments, as well as a discussion with treating doctors to ensure that scientific, technical and administrative procedures were fully implemented, especially within the operating room.
The visit also included a review of the hospital’s warehouse operations, where some items were collected and compared with warehouse records, leading to the placing of those responsible for not making the annual inventory and quarterly reconciliations auditable.
The blood bank was also checked, where bags of blood were checked and matched with records to ensure that they were not changed and given for cases within the hospital. Sourcebooks found to be in violation of legal preservation procedures were seized.
The Under Secretary met Dr. Ahmed Al-Maraghi, a consultant in obstetrics and gynecology, to present proposals for new services in the Siwa Maternity Hospital The Under Secretary welcomed these ideas and sent assignments to the General Administration of Therapeutic Medicine to continue the their implementation. .
Dr. Hazem Mubasher, Undersecretary of the Matrouh Health Directorate, participated in the tour, along with a large committee from the Directorate, with a surprise visit to the Obstetrics and Reproductive Health Hospital.
