The Catalan derby that brings together Barcelona-Espanyol it ended in a 1-1 draw. Both teams needed to finish the game with 10 players.
Barcelona will host Espanyol at the Camp Nou in their next match Spanish league, Saturday (31/1/2022) evening WIB. The hosts started the match well. They were able to score a goal in the 7th minute through Marcos Alonso.
But afterwards, the Blaugrana’s attacks were straightforward even if they controlled the match. The 1-0 score for Barcelona lasted until the break.
After the break, Alonso committed a sloppy foul which resulted in a penalty. Joselu was able to convert the penalty into a goal to bring Espanyol level in the 71st minute.
Both teams must then play with 10 players. Barcelona lost Jordi Alba to a second yellow card in the 78th minute. Espanyol experienced something similar when Vinicius Souza was sent off by the referee two minutes later.
No additional goals have been created. The 1-1 score did not close the 90 minutes.
This draw put Barcelona back at the top of the table with 38 points. However, they are behind Real Madrid on similar points. Espanyol is 16th with 13 points.

Barcelona were able to open the scoring when the game had been going for seven minutes. Starting from Raphinha’s corner kick. The ball can be headed by Andreas Christensen.
Christensen’s header finds Marcos Alonso unmarked. Alonso can head the ball into the goal.
Alonso had the opportunity to score his second goal of this match in the 18th minute. However, he failed to properly exploit Jordi Alba’s measured delivery of the bait.
Barcelona appeared dominant in the first round. Espanyol just tried to threaten in the 33rd minute. Even Joselu’s shot wasn’t dangerous because it was still wide.
Barcelona still continues to press. Raphinha shot hard in the 38th minute. Alvaro Fernandez but still careful to secure the ball.

Joselu himself who took the penalty kick managed to convert it into a goal. His shot towards the center beat Marc-André ter Stegen.

In the 78th minute Barcelona had to play with 10 players. Alba received a second yellow card for protesting the referee.
Two minutes later it was the referee’s turn to eliminate two Espanyol players. Vinicius Souza received a second yellow card after violating Lewandowski.
Leandro Cabrera then also received a red card. He is seen to nearly step on the head of Lewandowski, who went down after being breached.
However, Cabrera’s red card was canceled after the referee looked into the VAR. Cabrera’s move appears to have been accidental.
With the same number of players returning, Barcelona pressed for the winning goal. Their efforts were again blocked by Fernandez looking strong.
He made two brilliant saves in the final minutes. Fernandez managed to fend off Christensen’s header and Lewandowski’s close-range shot.
