A policeman from the regional administration in Velingrad is under investigation for sexually assaulting a minor. The case goes back to the beginning of October, but it was only on Friday that it was reported by the Ministry of the Interior, after the NOVA team started working on the case and made an official investigation. Journalist Marieta Nikolaeva met and spoke with the victim – a 15-year-old girl and her parents. We also showed for the police officer who was under investigation.

We will call her Vicky and she will remain anonymous to preserve her honor and dignity. She is only 15 years old. She knows the bully because she monitors public order in front of her school. Until he looked for her on Instagram with the purpose of talking about her classmate.
“I asked him if he was going to come out? And he said, because he was tired, we should meet instead. At first, I didn’t expect that he could do something to me, because he is a law enforcement officer,” said the victim.

That’s why Vicky trusts him and goes to his house. He asked if he could take my legs off, but I kicked him between my legs, he started to squeeze my arms. I had bruises on my side, he pulled me a lot. I told him I would leave him, I kicked him, I cried several times. There are many moments I don’t remember,” the girl says.

Vicky leaves the police house and then receives a message from him to be quiet. “After this case, he wrote to me that it should be confidential. I thought not to tell anyone, I was ashamed. I shared with a classmate,” she said.

They are investigating the police for raping a 15-year-old girl

The classmate tells her mother and that’s how Vicki’s parents find out. “I also happened to find out from her friend’s mother. The doctor said she had an affair. And I was angry, he stands in front of the school for the day, and he looks at them to see who is going and who is not going. There are rumors that he attacked other girls too,” said the parent.

Vicky’s father doubts there will be justice. He is experiencing what happened very hard. “I have information that this happened to two other boys as well. He pulls out a gun and oversteps his rights,” he says

“Yeah, she’ll get over it. But for what? Should people in power do what they want?” asked the victim’s father.

Immediately after the report, the investigator was detained by the Internal Security Directorate for 24 hours. He has been suspended for two months pending an investigation. We are looking for him at his house. His house is under renovation. “It’s set up,” he said when asked about the incident. After some thought, he comes out again and offers to give us his lawyer’s phone number “No nothing is true. If you want to talk to my lawyer,” said the man.

NOVA asked for an opinion, we are also looking for its chief executive – the head of regional administration Velingrad. At first he told the postman that he would come down to us, but then he refused.

The district prosecutor’s office in Pazardzhik is working on the case. No charges have been filed against the law enforcement officer at this time. Witnesses have been questioned, the results of the tests are awaited.
