The trend of rising prices for cars and auto parts also affects tires, as a large amount of raw materials for their production was exported from Russia, writes Trud bg.
Experts estimate that tire prices in Europe have risen by between 10 per cent and 20 per cent in the past year and a half.
The drivers of electric cars have suffered the most from the rise in prices.
Their tires have specific dimensions for lower resistance – large diameter and small width.
As electric cars are smaller than diesel and petrol cars, the production of this type of tire is in smaller volumes, which makes it even more expensive.
In the long run, however, the prices of electric car tires are expected to start falling.
It is not recommended to stock up on new tires that will mature while they are installed, because over time they lose their properties.
