Lhe first phase of this opening will allow residents of east Ottawa to take advantage of seniors’ services, medical imaging, rehabilitation services in addition to certain mental health and wellness services. Specialized clinics, a mobility aid store and a laboratory. Services will all be offered in English and French.
During the second phase of the opening, in the fall, Carrefour will add more mental health and well-being services, more specialized clinics at Hôpital Montfort and a café.
Family physicians in the region will be able to transfer their patients to the Carrefour as soon as it opens so that they can use specialized services.
The Carrefour santé d’Orléans project is a partnership between several health care establishments in the region and public health organizations, the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario, the Montfort Hospital, Ottawa Public Health and the Home and community support services Champlain. A fundraiser to support the financing of the establishment, led by the Montfort Foundation, will also be launched shortly.
An official inauguration should also take place later this summer when the health situation permits.
