Harrison Ford, who celebrated his 80th anniversary on July 13, can safely be included in the category of “living legends”. Although Ford’s acting career only really began at the age of 34, in less than a decade the carpenter from Chicago managed to enter the pantheon of the most popular and highest paid Hollywood stars. Harrison Ford is certainly one of the film icons of the 80s and the face of the childhood screen of several generations, but the “warrior pensioner” is far from resting. Next year, the fifth part of the Indiana Jones film series will premiere, where we will see the actor again in full battle readiness.
In several interviews, Harrison Ford has expressed his gratitude to luck and chance for the brilliant course of his acting career. “I’m very, very lucky. Extremely lucky. A lot of people who are much smarter, more talented and nicer than me have not been as lucky as I have been,” he reveals in a conversation with “GQ” magazine. However, Ford had a long way to go before success. He became interested in acting while still in school, then moved to Wisconsin to study philosophy in college. Although he did not finish his studies, the acting classes he attended at that time convinced the young aspirant to seek happiness in the acting profession.
At that time he was already married, and together with his wife they decided where to go – to the East or the West. To decide, they took a coin that had fallen to the East, but Ford didn’t want to go back there because of the cold climate, so the family moved to the West Coast.
