/ world today news/ /KROSS/The call of GERB to take on a new state debt rests on “inaccurate interpretations” of the data on the country’s financial situation, according to former Finance Minister Prof. Hristina Vucheva. According to her, an update of the budget in the fall is possible, but it will hardly be related to the amount of the debt.
A caretaker government cannot embark on such a procedure. Without a working National Assembly, no change can be voted on, because the request for a loan is practically a request to change the Law on the State Budget for 2014. This is what the university lecturer and former Minister of Finance Prof. Hristina Vucheva told the National Radio.
The numbers provided by the GERB party are not correct, as this is a calendar of issues and payments – the day-to-day work of debt management, and it does nothing to change the situation we have until the end of this year. Most recently, the caretaker minister in his interview said that in fact the funds available in the state reserve are fully sufficient to cover all commitments until the end of the year. Another topic is whether the new government, which will be elected in October, has a new policy and will then submit a request for an update to the National Assembly, commented Prof. Vucheva.
There may be an update, but, in my opinion, it is unlikely to affect the debt for 2014, she specified.
According to Vucheva, it will be very sad if the next government merges the National Revenue Agency and the Customs Agency. According to her, the idea is inappropriate, given the functions and tasks of the two units.
