An elderly driver of a Volkswagen was released on the Egelantiersgracht with fright. Due to an error, the car partly hit the quay at the end of the afternoon. But luck in an accident: the rear wheels of the car ended up on a boat.

The incident happened when the car reversed to turn and drove its rear wheels over the dock. The car then ended up on a moored boat. As a result, the car just did not fall into the water.
The fire brigade was able to get the car back onto the quay. The driver was checked by the ambulance staff but nothing wrong. “The driver can probably even drive away with the car, if it has recovered from the shock,” says a spokesman for the fire service.
The boat is probably still usable.
