A car was hit by a train in Prinsenbeek on Friday morning. The photos show that the car was completely wrecked and the trailer came off and lies somewhere further away.
The incident occurred at the Spoorstraat level crossing in Prinsenbeek. The driver of the van took the bend too short when he arrived from Moskesweg and got stuck behind the waiting sign with his trailer as the train arrived.
The man managed to get out of the car just in time. His car and level crossing suffered extensive damage.
An employee of a nearby company heard the loud honking of the train, followed by a loud bang. The clerk saw that the driver had already gotten out of his car and looked around dazed.
There are no trains between Breda and Lage Zwaluwe until 12:30. According to ProRail, the damage must first be repaired. Train passengers can transfer to an evacuation train via a bridge and are taken to Rotterdam.
