The Port of San Antonio received the arrival of the car carrier Asian Empire, ship from where the largest vehicle disembarkation recorded in the history of Chile.
The ship docked at 07:13 in the morning of this Saturday, October 9 at the docks of DP World San Antonio, point from where 6,207 wheeled units will be unloaded. According to the shipping planning of the maritime terminal, the vessel will set sail at 11:59 p.m. on Tuesday 12 of this month.
It should be remembered that the highest unloading of vehicles previously recorded corresponded to 6,009 cars, which were taken off the ship Morning Lynn in 2014.
The arrival of the Asian Empire was initially scheduled for October 5, something that was frustrated by a port closure due to swells, delaying the reception of the ship for this day.
During the period of inactivity of the enclosure due to weather conditions, 25,741 vehicles were left waiting to be disembarked from the ships.
