The car bazaar association wants money from the state for leaked sales, the biggest player is against it

According to the association of 14 second-hand car dealers, the losses reached almost half a billion crowns, 65 dealers had to close.

The APPAA car bazaar association came up with a request to pay compensation to used car dealers. According to her estimate, traders lost 450 million crowns and thousands of people lost their jobs in the field. But the biggest player in the market – the group Aures Holdings – is against.

APPAA Chairman Petr Přikryl informed about the request for compensation in a press release. According to him, the estimated loss of 450 million crowns is only a direct financial impact of individual bazaars. “Another negative consequence of the spring closure of stores is thousands of unemployed people and also 65 salespeople who had to close down for economic reasons,“Přikryl added.

Přikryl also believes that the loss of used cars was unnecessary. “We lobbied for the fact that open-air stores could remain open. We guaranteed compliance with hygiene rules, adherence to spacing, wearing veils, disinfecting cars, etc., but we did not succeed. At the same time, in one of his statements, the Prime Minister himself expressed the conviction that the virus is not transmitted in ventilated rooms, and therefore also in open spaces,“He covered.” According to him, he asked Minister Karel Havlíček for a meeting, to which the Minister has not yet responded.

APPAA brings together only 14 used cars on the market. The largest player in the Czech used market, the Aures Holdings group, which operates the AAA Auto or Mototechna network, does not require compensation. “We do not want the branches to close as in March. We believe that the purchase of cars will not limit the government measures taken yesterday and there is still interest in cars, especially as a safer form of travel compared to public transport,“Said Karolína Topolová, CEO and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Aures Holdings.
