The 36-year-old goalkeeper announced his decision in sports newspaper L’Équipe on Monday.
Lloris, who holds the international record with 145 caps, made his debut for the French national team in 2008, with which he became world champion in 2018, and in the final of the last World Cup in Qatar he lost to Argentina on penalties. With the goalkeeper, the national team won the silver medal at the 2016 European Championship and won the 2020/21 Nations League competition.
The goalkeeper made his debut for Nice in the 2005/06 season in the French top flight, signed a contract with Lyon in 2008 and has been defending goal for Tottenham Hotspur since 2012. Winner of the French Cup with Lyon, he reached the Champions League final with the Londoners in 2019, but his team failed there against Liverpool.
