SERAMBINEWS.COM, BANGKOK – The Office of the Royal Thai Society (ORST) has announced the change of the official name of the Thai capital, from “Bangkok” to “Krung Thep Maha Nakhon”.

However, a government spokesman as quoted from Bangkok Post, Saturday (19/2/2022) said, Krung Thep Maha Nakhon will only be used as the official name.

While the name Bangkok will be included in parentheses.

The name “Bangkok” has been in use since November 2001.
