The canton of Zurich wants to go into high gear with vaccination. As the “Tages-Anzeiger” writes, the canton wants to install six additional vaccination centers. Before that, four locations were planned. The exhibition hall in Zurich is one of the additional locations. There are also vaccination centers in the cities of Winterthur, Uster, Wetzikon, Bülach, Meilen, Affoltern am Albis, Horgen and Dietlikon.
The vaccination site at Messe Zurich is scheduled to go into operation in mid-February. Up to 4,000 vaccinations per day could be carried out there. The other centers would have a capacity of 400 to 2,000 vaccinations per day. When these centers open the doors is not yet known. But this will be the case in April at the latest.
The existing vaccine is currently not sufficient for such a number of vaccinations. The Zurich government will announce the exact details in a media conference on Tuesday.
