“The Shoe of Manitu”, a parody of the Winnetou films of the 1960s, was released in cinemas in 2001. According to Constantin Film, it became the most successful German film at the time with almost twelve million cinemagoers.
Filming on “The Canoe of Manitu” is scheduled to begin this year. Herbig wrote the script together with his colleagues Christian Tramitz and Rick Kavanian, who were also involved in the previous film.
