The cancer patient chart still does not give a complete picture of patients

This is also one of the reasons why, together with the digital heart and the cancer patient card inside it, for 4.5 million euros, clinical university hospitals are creating the oncology patient data exchange platform of their own, which could be ready in two years.

“Because the statistical record – ultimately provides all the information the hospital needs, for example, about the patient’s feeding and all the daily activities that take place in the hospital and which is very important for the treatment process of the patient – not everything is there. the information that comes after the patient’s cancer card,” says Aiga Balode, Assistant Secretary of State for the Ministry of Health.

Before that, about 15 million euros were spent on old e-health. At least 25 million euros have been earmarked for the creation of new digital solutions.
