The Camorra knocks on the Municipality of Pagani, the mayor distances himself from the accusations

The mayor of Pagani, Lello De Prisco, clarifies his position and that of the municipal administration, after rumors of involvement in the judicial investigation which led to 8 arrests, for a total of 16 suspects, in the context of the alleged Camorra infiltrations of the Fezza-De Vivo clan in the public procurement system.

“The story is described in the press release from the Public Prosecutor’s Office signed by the prosecutor Giuseppe Borrelli. I learned, however, exclusively from the press of my hypothetical involvement in the same. In the same statement the extraneousness of my administration and my political team in political and electoral relations with the Fezza-De Vivo clan is evident”, he said. With respect to the Pedema company, I would like to underline that it has been operating in the city of Pagani in the field of cemetery services, sweeping and sanitation since 2017, therefore going through two municipal administrations and a prefectural commissionership, which was then succeeded by my majority. While I represent that nothing has been notified to me, I remain available with my lawyers of the investigative bodies whenever my listening is needed”.

De Prisco says he is calm about his work and that of councilor Pietro Sessa, explaining that he will continue to work for his community, relegating this event to the order of complications of the “role of mayor”. “I have made legality and the principle of guarantee for all a cornerstone of my political and legal activity, and as mayor, as a lawyer, as a citizen I remain confident in the work of the judiciary, which I am sure will operate with serenity of judgment on the whole matter ”, he concluded. “I will not issue any other statement on the event, which does not need further media hype, above all for the good of the city of Pagani, also in consideration of the work that the Judiciary is carrying out to provide full clarity on the investigation, already partially reconstructed . I will remain focused with my administration and with my political team on the administrative activities in the field”.
